Exploring the fundamentals

Today in class, we zoomed through the rise of fundamentalist groups, defined terrorism, and explored the conflicts in Iran, Iraq, and the September 11 attacks. The FBI defines terrorism as "the unlawful use of force and violence against persons or property to intimidate or coerce a government, the civilian population, or any segment thereof, in furtherance of political or social objectives". It's weird for me to think that you guys were barely alive for all of this...September 11 is one of the most vivid memories that I have as a child. I was using the Googler just to explore things relating to September 11 and stumbled across this article on Huffington Post displaying some of the most notable reactions to the terrorist attacks through art. Some of the sculpture pieces in particular are really interesting; check it out if you wanna!

You also have your last WHAP reading assignment for the year...sophomores, start shedding a tear as you will soon say bye to Mr. Bentley. Pages 903-910 due Monday. Can you believe it?! Sophomores, you should now know everything about the world ever. Right?

Bentley looks suspiciously like Roelofs...have we ever seen them in the same room?!
In other news, for all my sweet nerdy Star Wars homeskillets, the new trailer is here for Rogue One! I only have one question...where are the Ewoks?!

Plot hole #10067 in Star Wars.
For the photo of the day, we have an image from India's Holi week. I don't know if any of you celebrate this, but if you aren't familiar, this Hindu celebration commemorates the victory of good over evil. It's also known as the "Festival of Colors" and is celebrated in India during March every year.
This is my kind of party.

Have a WONDERFUL Thursday friends. Love you all. Virdin out.
