Can't we all just get along?!?

Hello Hugemanatarians!

Today in 'Manatee world, we dove into the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, with a little help from our 5th Humanities teacher, John Green. What we want to make sure you take away from today is that this is not primarily religious conflict; it's a territorial one, with years of history and hurt that has built up to today's tension. If you're still a little confused on some of the progression of events, here's a helpful visual to illustrate change over time with Israel's claim to land in the Middle East.

John Green: 2016. It rhymes, boom.
Tomorrow is the day...Larry Springer is here! Bring your speeches! Bring your decade-appropriate garb! Bring your questions! It's on like Donkey Kong. We can't wait to see what you've come up with. We'll open class with guests' speeches and then begin our questioning. Make Jerry proud.

Last seen on the real Jerry Springer, because why not?

Pause for a second for an important announcement: Pancakes are better than waffles. Here is proof.  Excuse me while I go make all of these and stuff my face. Brb.

To coincide with today's topic in class, I wanted today's photo of the day to come from Israel, specifically from the Wailing Wall (or Buraq Wall) in Jerusalem, a sacred site for both Muslims and Jews. It's massive and beautiful. People gather from all around the world to pray or just to see its vastness. Paddington and Mrs. Paddington went recently and came back with lots of cool stories.

Peace out boy scouts. Super ready for tomorrow!
