I don't know if 2016 has been as sad for you as it has for me, but Gene Wilder's death yesterday seems like just another sad event. Stupid 2016.

If you don't know Gene Wilder, then maybe check out some movies over your 3 day weekend. My personal favorites are: The Producers, Blazing Saddles, Young Frankenstein (Mel Brooks is a comedic genius), and Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (not the one with Johnny Depp, obvi).

Today in class, we did our first real CE! Remember if you missed it, you still have a 100! You have 2 free-bes every 9 weeks! If you are still struggling, ask a friend, a sophomore, or a teacher for some advice. We will have another one on Thursday (although that day we will not have a Virdin or a Stanton). 

After our CE, we pretended to be alien Indiana Joneses.

Y'all have seen the original Indiana Jones trilogy, RIGHT?! If not, add that to movies you need to watch this weekend. Tell your parents it's homework. 

Your take away from class today should be: an understanding of how archeologists look at artifacts to figure things out about ancient civilizations, what "paleolithic" and "homo sapiens" means, and the importance of early inventions like fire and the wheel. We will pick up here tomorrow, looking at actual artifacts from the paleolithic period.
